About Medjugorje
Medjugorje is located in southern Bosnia & Herzegovina. It has a population of just 4,000 people, mainly of Croatian ethnicity and Catholic religion. Medjugorje literally means between mountains. The town is situated between two hills, namely Križevac and Podbrdo, which may be referred to as Apparition Hill. The establishment of the Medjugorje parish dates back to 1892, with St. James being its patron saint, known for safeguarding pilgrims. The town became famous in the whole world because on 24th June 1981 six young people claimed to have seen the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since the first apparition of Our Lady of Medjugorje, the Virgin Mary has continued to appear daily for 40 years.
Our Lady of Medjugorje first appeared in the afternoon wearing a long grey dress also holding a baby and came back regularly the days after. As for what the visionaries told, the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, as she calls herself, has been appearing to convert the whole world. During one of the earliest visions, Mary was seen again by Marjia in tears near a cross with rainbow colours saying “Peace, Peace, Peace! Be reconciled! Only Peace. Make your peace with God and among yourselves. For that, it is necessary to believe, to pray, to fast, and to go to confession.”.

Transfer (DUBROVNIK-MEDJUGORJE)
Arrival at Dubrovnik airport. After finishing paperwork proceeding towards bus for cca. 3h ride towards Medjugorje with pause to rest. On arrival to beautiful Medjugorje proceed to check in, dinner and have free time to rest.
Cross mountain (Križevac)
Breakfast. After early breakfast morning meets your guide who will accompany you to Cross Mountain. As you climb, you can see the inspired artistry of the bronze plaques depicting each mystery of the Way of the cross. Cross mountain (Krizevac) “Krizevac” means “Mount of the Cross.” It is the highest mountain in the area. In 1933, the parish of St. James erected a large concrete cross to commemorate the 1900th Anniversary of Jesus’ passion and death on the Cross. Cross Mountain is central to one’s pilgrimage to Medjugorje. It is a penitential climb that leads pilgrims to reflect upon their relationship with God and what they need to change in their lives to draw closer to Him. Often deep healing, cleansing, and peace are experienced at the summit of the mountain, at the foot of the cross, after pilgrims arrive at the top. Holy Lady has made it clear in Her messages that she desires to see pilgrims climbing both Cross Mountain and Apparition Mountain. Return to hotel for a lunch. After that is possible to attend holy mass. And use some free time to explore beautiful city of Medjugorje. Overnight at the hotel with dinner.
Apparation Hill (Podbrdo)
With your guide follow the same path up Apparition Hill where the young visionaries first encountered holy Lady. As you climb, you can see the inspired artistry of the bronze plaques depicting each mystery of the rosary. Apparition Hill (Mount Podbrdo)
This mountainous hill is where the visionaries first encountered holy Lady on 25 June 1981. Also, at the base of this hill a Wooden Cross “Marija, walking down the hill, mysteriously was physically pushed to the side and shown by holy Lady a cross, pointing to it saying, ‘Peace, peace, peace.’ It is interesting to note that holy Lady said these words on the third day, June 26, 1981, of the apparitions. Is it not strange that the violence of the Cross, blood, torn flesh, and a terrible atrocity are shown by holy Lady to represent peace? This important lesson teaches many things. When we struggle and are in the midst of turmoil, it is then that we turn to prayer the most, seeking peace.
When climbing, your group is invited to recite the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary. At the top of the hill, you will witness the exact location of the first alleged apparition of holy Lady to the visionaries and enjoy private time in prayer. It was from Apparition Hill where holy Lady first began inviting the world, through the visionaries and the village of Medjugorje, to respond to Her call. There have been thousands of apparitions of holy Lady to the visionaries’ quarter to 6 pm, where ever they are —apparitions that continue even to this day.
The Blue Cross is located on the left side of the base of Apparition Mountain. It is on this site that holy Lady appeared to the visionaries when they were hiding from the Communist police in the beginning days of the apparitions. A blue cross was erected to mark the spot of the apparitions, which led to the naming of the site, “Blue Cross”, where visionary Mirjana had an Apparition every 2nd of the month at 9 am. After visiting it return to hotel for lunch.

Cenacolo- Bijakovici
Breakfast. You are welcome to join in the celebration of the Eucharist and attend talks, concerning our Blessed Mother's messages with Priests, Visionaries, nuns and others, visit to Cenacolo at the Hamlet of Bijakovici, where local craftsmen and artisans give testimony to holy Lady's work in their lives. Lunch in hotel. Each evening you are welcome to join the other pilgrims and the parish community of St. James Church for the recitation of the Rosary, the celebration of the Eucharist, and prayers for the sick. On alternative evenings you will have the opportunity to attend the Holy Hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament or Veneration of the Cross. Overnight at the hotel with dinner.
Transfer (MEDJUGORJE-DUBROVNIK)
Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. You can attend daily mass in St. James church. After you can spend some time on free tour around city by yourself. Return to Dubrovnik, stopping for photos on beautiful viewpoints above city of Dubrovnik. Despite flight is at 7:40PM (19:40) group should be at airport at least around 3h prior to the flight.
